TABULA RASA is Latin for "clean slate." In order to write this album, I stripped away preconceived notions about myself. Ultimately, I came to terms with the universal truth that to truly know oneself, one must know the power one holds within. Most Africans around the world have been robbed of their true history. Described as a Hip-Hop Renaissance, TABULA RASA opens up with "The Mission" (Track No. 1) and the album's primary purpose or goal: To free the African from mental enslavement by helping to educate the African diaspora on the importance of our history; and, To cultivate greater community/unity through education, in solidarity with Allies, to help eradicate racism and all injustices inflicted on the African. The album is an account of my journey through self-discovery and spiritual-reconnection with my Ancestors, resulting in a rap/soul message of hope for humanity: TABULA RASA.
The artist behind the art
Sinzere is a genre-fluid Hip-Hop/Soul artist and singer-songwriter whose artistry is defined by dichotomy—the contrast between vulnerability and defiance, soulfulness and grit, precision and spontaneity. As a lyricist, she pairs sharp, thought-provoking bars with soulful melodies and deeply personal storytelling. Her sound draws from the rhythmic foundation of Hip-Hop, the warmth and emotion of Soul, the infectious grooves of Funk, and the raw, rebellious energy of Rock.
That same dichotomy comes alive on stage. As a live performer, Sinzere moves effortlessly between commanding the room with unapologetic Hip-Hop energy and creating intimate moments through her vocals and musicianship. Whether behind the mic delivering razor-sharp lyricism or leaning into her soulful singer-songwriter side, she brings a dynamic, genre-bending presence that refuses to be confined to one lane.
